“Working with Rajamouli is like writing notes without a pen and paper.” In an interview with a leading English daily (IndieWire), Keeravani summed up their working process succinctly. Over a span of two decades, the two have joined hands for about 12 films, each of which has garnered praise for its soundtrack. His collaboration with Rajamouli is stuff straight out of celluloid dreams. He eventually went on to create several evergreen classics in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The Ram Gopal Verma venture gained many accolades for its soundtrack. But he eventually rose to prominence with the 1991 blockbuster ‘Kshana Kshanam’. His first break as a composer was the 1990 film ‘Kalki’ which never saw the light of day. Keeravani’s career started on a bitter note. He is also the cousin of director SS Rajamouli and singer MM Srilekha. He was the son of noted lyricist Koduri Siva Shakthi Datta, and nephew to director V Vijayendra Prasad. Creativity was in his genes in a manner of speaking.

Keeravani was born in a Telugu-speaking family in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh. That is partly what makes them so indescribably beautiful and so different from each other.
